Retired Breeders
Is an adult cat a better option for you than a kitten? We’re committed to never overbreeding our cats here at Sunkittens, so all of our breeders are retired relatively young to ensure they still have plenty of time to just be a happy family pet to a loving family. We prefer our retirees to go home as solo pets, or to a home that may have one of their kittens.
Sometimes, we will list older kittens on here (or young adults) that do not fit the criteria of being a future breeder.
FLOWER
DOB | April 6th, 2024
COLOR | Black Smoke (NS)
PKD Tested Negative
Genetically cleared through Wisdom Panel Optimal Selection
WHY WE ARE RETIRING:
Flower is the first girl I ever kept back. She is a wonderful girl who is SUPER people focused - but not so great with other cats. She might be able to tolerate another cat after introductions but it’s clear she would be much happier as the only cat of the family. Despite being a wonderful mother (she only ever had one litter), I feel it is a little bit unfair to her to have to tolerate living with other cats if she does not want to. She does wonderful with dogs, however.
Spay Date: April 3rd, 2026
Ready: Mid/Late April 2026
Pet only
KATSU
DOB | September 24th, 2022
COLOR | Gold Black Shaded (NY 12)
PKD Tested Negative / HCM Screening Cleared
Genetically cleared through NeoGen MyCatScan
WHY WE ARE RETIRING:
Oh, having to retire Katsu breaks my heart as he was my dream male for a very, very long time. He even won awards when he was younger for how beautiful and perfect he is.
He is the sweetest cat in the entire world to us and would be a lovely companion to others. Every kitten from Katsu has been perfect in every single way. Adaptable, sweet, gentle, cuddly. He is SO cuddly himself. But similar to Flower, Katsu has a hard time being around other cats - he actually only prefers to be with golden colored cats like him (Vivi and Honey), and it’s a little bit odd. He would do wonderful in a home where he is the only cat, as he can be a little unpredictable about it. Even though he is a tomcat, he does not spray / mark.
